Getting the right fit is the difference between gear you love and gear that stays in the cupboard — and with protective equipment, fit is safety. All measurements below are in centimetres (cm) and follow standard Australian sizing. Every size listed here matches the size options on our product pages. If you are between sizes, we recommend sizing up for hoodies, shirts and pants, and a snug (not tight) fit for gloves — or choose Custom size on any hoodie, flannel shirt or riding pants and we will make it to your measurements.
How to measure

Chest: measure around the fullest part of your chest, keeping the tape level under your arms.

Waist: measure around your natural waistline, at the narrowest point.

Hips: measure around the widest part of your hips.

Thigh: measure around the fullest part of your thigh, just below the crotch.

Inseam: measure from the top of your inner thigh to your ankle bone.

Shoulder width: measure across your back from the tip of one shoulder to the tip of the other.

Sleeve: measure from the shoulder seam to the wrist bone with your arm slightly bent.

Body length: measure from the highest point of the shoulder down to where you want the hem to sit.

Hand: measure around your knuckles (excluding thumb) with your hand flat.
Use a soft measuring tape over light clothing. If possible, have someone help you — it is more accurate.

Women's sizing
Our gear is unisex-fit, so there is no separate women's cut. Measure around the fullest part of your bust and choose the size whose chest range includes it in the table above. Above 3XL, or for a tailored fit, choose Custom size.
Riding pants (waist sizing)
Our armoured cargo pants use waist sizes in inches — the same numbers you will see on the product page (30 to 46) — plus a made-to-measure Custom size option.

Made to your waist, hip and inseam measurements |
Custom sizing (made to measure)
Every hoodie, flannel shirt and pair of riding pants can be made to your measurements. On the product page, pick Custom size from the size options and a short form will appear. For hoodies and flannel shirts enter your chest, waist, sleeve length and body length (shoulder width optional); for riding pants enter your waist, hips and inseam (thigh optional); then add your height (weight optional) and we will cut the piece to fit. Custom-size gear is the same price as standard sizes and, because it is made to order, is dispatched within 10–14 days. Because it is made specifically for you, please measure carefully and add any fit notes (for example longer sleeves or a roomier fit) in the notes field.

Body armour & inserts
CE Level 1 inserts (back, shoulders and elbows) and CE Level 2 inserts (shoulders and elbows) are one-size and fit the internal armour pockets of all MOTOVATIONAL™ hoodies and flannel shirts.
